Position Overview Nye Health Services is seeking a motivated and passionate Culinary Arts Intern to join our culinary team and gain hands-on experience in healthcare dining operations. This internship offers students the opportunity to work alongside experienced culinary professionals while learning the unique role food service plays in enhancing resident wellness and experience in senior living. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, Hospitality, Nutrition, or related fields to gain real-world operational experience in a mission-driven healthcare environment. What You'll Learn Daily food preparation and meal production Safe food handling and sanitation practices Resident-centered dining service standards Modified diets and nutrition-based meal preparation Healthcare culinary compliance and regulatory standards Menu execution and kitchen workflow efficiency Inventory awareness and kitchen organization Team collaboration in a fast-paced culinary environment Responsibilities Assist culinary team with food prep and meal service Support plating, presentation, and resident dining experience Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards Observe and participate in kitchen operations Assist with special meal events and resident engagement opportunities Learn healthcare culinary best practices and compliance standards Qualifications Current enrollment in a Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Nutrition, or related program Strong interest in culinary operations and healthcare dining Positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in a professional kitchen environment In 1989, Nye Health Services was founded on the philosophy that people deserve services that recognize individuality and are tailored to their unique needs.
