Job Description

Job Summary Head Injury Association is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian to provide nutritional services to the individuals we support in our residential programs. This role is responsible for conducting nutritional assessments, coordinating dietary orders with medical providers, implementing individualized nutrition plans, and providing training and support to residential staff. The Dietitian will play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring that nutritional needs are met in accordance with medical recommendations and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assess nutritional needs and dietary restrictions in collaboration with physicians and ancillary service providers to develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans. Provide nutritional counseling and education to individuals receiving services. Educate and support the clinical team on healthy food choices, menu planning, nutrition monitoring, and healthy eating habits to improve overall wellness. Incorporate dietary recommendations associated with medical conditions, including but not limited to obesity, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, and PKU, into menu planning and development. Assist with recipe development and food purchasing decisions based on the nutritional needs of the individuals we support. Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, OSHA, and other applicable quality standards. Prescribe modified or specialized diets for individuals identified by their physicians as requiring dietary modifications. Participate in supervision meetings to review plans of care, documentation of nutritional oversight, and address any barriers to implementing prescribed menu plans. Provide training and ongoing support to residential staff regarding dietary requirements and nutritional best practices.
Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian credential Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform extensive fieldwork, with approximately 85% of time spent in the field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and manage multiple complex issues simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to educate, coach, counsel, and present information to professional audiences. Flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs and provide training and assessments across various residential settings.
Pay:
$55.00 per hour
