Job Description
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS
:- Works in close conjunction with all other clinical staff (Registered Dietitians) to provide nutritional care for those residents considered high nutritional risk and others as assigned, including but not limited to tube fed residents, dialysis residents, residents with significant weight loss, pressure ulcers.
- Completes initial nutritional assessments, care plans and appropriate documentation for those residents assigned.
- Completes annual nutritional assessments/significant change assessments on all facility residents unless otherwise indicated.
- Participates in resident care conferences.
- Establishes meal patterns for residents following physician orders, updates food preferences/dislikes in the meal tracker system.
- Participates in the facility QA program completing audits as scheduled.
- Responsible for communication with other departments as needed regarding resident nutritional care.
- May assist Lead Registered Dietitian with polices, menu review, inservice education and overall monitoring of the Clinical program.
- Assist in menu development and changes. Complete and approve diet extensions/allergen review in meal tracker.
- Assist in childcare menu development per state guidelines/ production sheets and adjustments as requested.
- Assist with adult care menus, resident care and diet education upon Medical Director's referral.
- Work with facility wellness. Assist in nutritional education and initiatives. This is to include activities in celebration with National Nutrition Month.
- Works with Sodexo Management team to meet the needs of the facility and residents.
- Assist in clinical policy review annually, review and implement policies with other disciplines as needed.
- Assists in monitoring the food service on the unit households as directed.
- Responsible for following facility dress code and name tag procedure.
- Will attend inservice programs to maintain registration status and update knowledge.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
:- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
- Maintain Registered Dietitian status.
- Past experience in food service/Long term care preferred.
- Neat, clean appearance.
- Desired membership in the American Dietetic Association.
