Job Description

Posting dates for internal transfers: June 11, 2026, through June 13, 2026 BASIC
FUNCTION
: To provide and ensure the nutritional aspects of patient care and to provide educational and instructional service to patients, families and community at large.
JOB DUTIES
Complete nutritional assessments utilizing the Nutrition Care Process for AACH hospital patients per Nutritional Services policy Complete nutritional assessments utilizing the Nutrition Care Process and appropriate MDS sections for Community Care Center residents per Federal, State and Facility Regulations Provide inpatient instructions appropriate to prescription and individualized to the patient Provide dietary counseling to patients' family and/or caretakers Collaborate in patients' care by acting as consultant to physicians, nurses, medical social workers and other para-medical persons in all areas of normal and therapeutic nutrition. Consult with physicians concerning dietary prescriptions and implementing these through nutrition intake adapted to the needs of individual patients. Recommend supplements and enteral feedings. Attend multi-disciplinary rounds to coordinate patient care Approve patient and resident menus Evaluate and prepare education materials Maintain safety and sanitary standards of the department Weekend/holiday on-call per rotation and provide vacation/leave coverage Maintain current registration and licensure Other duties as assigned. Responsible for checking e-mails and on-line learning assignments on a regular basis. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Registered Dietitian, licensed in the state of Ohio Ability to educate clients of diverse backgrounds and education levels Ability to work with all types of people Ability to make appropriate decisions Ability to flex hours and assignments to complete all aspects of job in a limited schedule Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Able to stand/walk to various hospital departments intermittently through an 8.0 hr. shift. Able to sit at a desk for up to 4 hours at a time. Able to bend to reach items on the floor, desk level and overhead. Able to lift books and supplies weighing 25 lbs. intermittently. Able to see clearly and hear normal speaking tones. Able to communicate verbally interpersonally and over the telephone in a clear and concise speech. Dexterity necessary to write legibly and type for long periods; up to four hours at a time. Able to lift, push or pull 25 lbs. intermittently, unassisted (50 lbs with assistance/team lifting).
