Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, including medical history, dietary habits, and physiological needs. Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans tailored to patient diagnoses such as geriatrics, acute care, or long-term care. Provide expert guidance on specialized nutrition therapies, including tube feeding management and diagnostic evaluation of nutritional deficiencies. Deliver effective health coaching to motivate patients towards healthier lifestyle choices, weight management, and disease prevention. Supervise and mentor dietetic interns or junior staff within the dietary department to ensure quality standards are met. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and outcomes accurately. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate nutrition interventions aligned with overall treatment goals and hospital protocols. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and the biological basis of nutrition to inform clinical decision-making. Proven experience in supervising dietetic staff or interns within a healthcare setting. Expertise in managing tube feeding protocols and creating effective care plans for complex nutritional needs. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques related to nutritional deficiencies and metabolic conditions. Extensive background in hospital or acute care environments, including geriatrics and long-term care experience. Proficiency with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management. Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on personalized nutrition strategies for weight loss, disease management, or recovery support.
