  • Days Green Township, OH, United States and 1 more Be the First to Apply Job Description Responsible for all aspects of care for the Allergy patients after the Physician sees the patient and orders the patient's testing and care.
Responsibilities Takes a detailed history of patient by phone or in person to help determine the type of testing to be done. Schedules the patient for the appropriate testing. Obtains consent for testing and scan to patient record. Performs skin testing, Multi-test, Intradermal or both, or if blood testing is to be done, makes sure the appropriate panels are ordered in Epic. If testing is to be done outside TCH lab, makes sure the patient has the appropriate written order. Reviews the initial results of the testing with the patient and schedules them for follow up with the Physician if indicated. Makes sure all the appropriate patient educational information is given to the patient based on the results of their testing. Makes sure this in entered in Epic for meaningful use. Calculates the results for the Physician to review. If treatment is indicated by the Physician, then formulates the appropriate treatment, either injection vials or SLIT vials. Has the ordering physician review and sign the formulation that was calculated. Schedules the patient to begin treatment. After the patient agrees to treatment and a starting treatment date is scheduled, prepares the treatment vials. Obtains appropriate consent for the type of treatment ordered and scans to record. Educates the patient on their treatment protocols, has patient sign and scans to record and gives the patient a copy for their records. Administers the treatment according to treatment protocols. Responsible for monitoring the patient for 20 minutes after treatment is administered and noting in the chart any reactions, following protocols. Responsible for maintaining the treatment vials for all patients. Responsible for ensuring that the patient sees the ordering physician once a year for follow up and reordering of their treatment as necessary. Orders and maintains all supplies used in the Allergy department(s) responsible for, checks for expiration dates and makes sure everything is on hand at all times needed for the patients testing and treatment. This includes mixing and maintenance of testing and treatment boards. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the allergy department in whatever offices you are responsible. Assist the physician and other clinical staff in the clinic as time allows or is required and other duties as assigned by the physicians on an as needed basis. Qualifications

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of a medical assisting program required. Certified/Registered MA preferred.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
1-3 years MA experience required, allergy testing experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in clinical skills listed in Appendix A required. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required. Strong verbal and social skills to facilitate working respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and drug reps in person or by telephone required.
