Job Description

The primary purpose of the registered dietician is providing and directing nutrition consultation to the health care team and dietary services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This consultant shall evaluate and monitor food service systems and make recommendations for change and improvement in accordance with state regulations. The consultant shall advise the appropriate personnel regarding changes to the food service facilities. The consultant shall recommend and monitor standards for sanitation, safety, and food preparation. The consultant shall assist the health care team concerning the nutritional care of the residents at the facility The consultant shall, upon request, provide dietary service to a resident in the facility in accordance with Physician's orders. The consultant shall chart nutritional information in accordance with accepted professional practice. The consultant shall make appropriate referrals and recommendations for continuing nutritional care of the residents.
Qualifications and Experience:
B.S. degree in nutrition and/or dietetics from a program approved by the American Dietetic Association. A minimum of two years clinical experience in nutrition and dietetics. Currently licensed as a registered Dietitian/Nutritionist in the State of Rhode Island. Knowledge of therapeutic diets. Keeps current on the latest changes in therapeutic diets. Knowledge of management of illness through therapeutic diets. EOE
