Duties:
The Registered/Licensed Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides professional nutrition services in support of all Grayson County WIC clinic operations and assigned personnel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Facilitating group nutrition education classes (live online and/or in person) Certifying supplemental food packages in accordance with WIC guidelines Providing individualized nutrition counseling to participants based on identified nutritional risk factors Assisting with special projects as assigned Developing, overseeing, and implementing the annual Nutrition Education Plan Providing breastfeeding education and support Participating in community outreach activities, including occasional Saturday events Performing other duties as assigned Provide oversight and conduct systematic review of documentation related to all clinical high-risk referrals utilizing WIC Quality Measurement Branch (QMB) forms, and participate in additional Quality Assurance (QA) activities to ensure compliance and program integrity Develop and provide monthly nutrition education training to WIC staff Oversee and document the WIC Certification Specialist Program Development for all eligible WIC staff All work is conducted in accordance with WIC policies and procedures and is subject to review for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and periodic audits by local, state, and federal authorities.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to maintain calm, professional verbal and nonverbal communication Proficiency in computer applications and standard office equipment Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment requiring daily multitasking Capacity to learn and implement new policies, procedures, and educational materials as required by local and state agencies Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Requirements:
Current Registered/Licensed Dietitian/ Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/LD/RDN) credential Two (2) years of related experience preferred but not required Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record Valid Vehicle Liability Insurance coverage required Current professional liability insurance coverage (required for contract employees; employees must maintain credentials in good standing) Successful completion of background check and drug screening.

Contract Employees:
This position may be structured as an independent contractor role. Contract professionals are responsible for their own taxes, insurance coverage, and benefit arrangements unless otherwise specified in the contract agreement. Contractors are required to maintain all professional credentials and liability insurance. In addition, contractors must be physically present on-site in the office a minimum of once per week during normal operating hours to support clinic operations and maintain program compliance.
