Job Description

Dietitian:
This 0.0 FTE/Per-Diem position is scheduled to work 8 HR day shifts as needed.
Compensation:
Non-Exempt, $37.25/HR — $53.62/

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities Provides nutrition assessment, identifies personalized nutrition interventions for inpatient and outpatient populations, and implements them as needed. Practices evidence-based, best practice, patient-centered nutrition care that is safe, effective, efficient, timely, and reflects the quality Plan for Mason Health. Communicates with the Culinary and Nutrition Services department to develop and implement nutritionally appropriate menus to accommodate the various needs of the inpatient population. Functions as an essential part of the Mason Health patient care team, providing nutritional expertise and collaborating with other disciplines to support optimal patient outcomes. Creates community-relevant nutrition presentations and educates those within the hospital district as needed. Participates in employee wellness programs and activities to support a system that improves employee health and wellbeing. Other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Clinical dietetics experience preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations Registered Dietitian (RD) required or eligible for registry. Dietitian Certification, Washington State Department of Health. Current Washington Food Handlers Permit. Current BLS Certification, or within 180 days of hire. Certified Diabetes Educator, American Association of Diabetes Educators, preferred.
Additional Unit-Specific Certification Requirements:
Maintain all department-specific skill competencies and annual safety tests. If performing outpatient diabetes education and does not hold a CDCES certification, will acquire 15 hours of diabetes-related Continuing Education annually.
