Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and oversee all clinical operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, with a strong background in assisted living, nursing home care, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a compassionate and efficient work environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in coordinating care plans, managing staff, and upholding the highest standards of nursing practice. Duties Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including Medicare and HIPAA standards. Supervise and manage nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, fostering professional development and maintaining high performance levels. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of resident care plans to ensure individualized attention and optimal health outcomes. Ensure accurate documentation review and maintenance of medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to confidentiality protocols. Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts to deliver comprehensive care that meets residents' physiological needs and enhances quality of life. Monitor shift management to ensure adequate staffing coverage across all units while maintaining operational efficiency. Conduct regular audits of medical records, documentation processes, and compliance with healthcare policies such as HIPAA. Lead efforts in staff training on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, nursing procedures, and documentation standards to uphold best practices in nursing administration. Experience Proven experience in nursing management within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar healthcare environments. Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on nurse management and team leadership. Extensive knowledge of resident's (personal needs), care plans, MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and Medicare regulations. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for documentation review and medical records management. Strong background in nursing practice including physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, medical terminology proficiency, and acute care procedures. Experience working within home health or hospice care settings is highly desirable. Ability to lead shift management effectively while coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless patient care.
