Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a positive, collaborative environment for nursing staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices across various care settings, and a passion for enhancing resident well-being through innovative care strategies. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, including assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and acute care units. Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met or exceeded. Supervise and manage nursing staff through effective recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and competent team. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy and confidentiality. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes, including managing MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and ensuring accurate coding for Medicare reimbursement. Maintain proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation and reporting. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations while promoting best practices in nursing administration and shift management. Skills Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services, or hospice care environments. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing management or administration roles. Deep knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care planning processes. Strong familiarity with Medicare regulations, documentation review procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards. Ability to manage multiple shifts effectively while maintaining high-quality resident care standards. Expertise in managing medical records using EMR/EHR systems and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
