SNF Location:

Multiple Regional Positions Available (Assignments based on regional needs.

Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday (Must be flexible to support audits/surveys)

Compensation:

$40.00 and up. (Starting pay commensurate with regional experience, qualifications, and depth of Title 22 knowledge) About the Role Are you an elite, highly organized DSD who thrives on driving operational excellence? We are seeking a Regional/Roving Director of Staff Development (DSD) to provide leadership, education, and regulatory oversight across a dedicated region of 10-12 Skilled Nursing Facilities. You will occasionally step in as needed as interim facility DSD. This is not a traditional, single-building role. You will serve as our regional "plug-and-play" leader—stepping in to support facilities during transition periods, managing survey preparedness, auditing employee records, and stabilizing CNA recruitment and retention. Key Responsibilities Staffing & Operations:

Stepping in to fill open DSD roles. Manage CNA scheduling, staffing projections, PPD management, and adjustments to ensure adequate resident care coverage. Participate in CNA selection, onboarding, and performance management (including disciplines and terminations).

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain pristine personnel records per Title 22, Section 72533. Confirm and track valid certifications/licenses for all CNAs, LVNs, RNs, and specialized staff.

Education & Orientation:

Oversee DHS-approved training programs. Deliver the required 40-hour orientation for new nursing assistants, complete Skills Return Demonstrations, and provide immediate remediation or annual in-services across all shifts.

Survey & Audit Readiness:

Conduct facility assessments to identify training gaps, assist with internal quality audits, and provide hands-on leadership during state surveys and Plans of Correction.

Requirements Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of proven success in a California Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment (Highly Preferred).

Licensure:

Active California Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

Certification:

Active California DSD Certification.

Capabilities:

Mastery of Title 22 regulations, PPD tracking, and CNA scheduling.

Logistics:

Reliable transportation and a total willingness to travel between assigned facilities within your designated region as operational needs arise.
