We are dedicated to providing excellent, personalized 24/7 care that promotes healing, recovery, and life to its fullest potential for our residents. We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and preserve our high standards of quality care. Job Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. As a vital member of our leadership team, you will oversee clinical operations, drive quality assurance initiatives, guide staff development, and ensure compliance with Title 22 regulations. You will champion a culture of care, accountability, and clinical excellence for our staff and residents. Key Responsibilities Direct, oversee, and evaluate the nursing management team (including
ADON, MDS
coordinators, and shift supervisors) and direct care staff.
Clinical Leadership:
Ensure full facility compliance with Federal, State (Title 22), and local regulations. Actively lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling to maintain safe, efficient staffing ratios and promote retention.
Staff Management & Development:
Coordinate clinical services with physicians, families, therapists, and dietitians to ensure holistic resident care plans
Resident Advocacy:
Lead state survey readiness and execution, ensuring correct systems are continuously active and functional.
Survey Preparedness:
Oversee the nursing department budget, including medical supplies, equipment inventory, and labor utilization.
Budgetary Management:
Qualifications & Requirements Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California. Minimum 3-5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience (DON, ADON, or Resident Care Director) in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment. Deep expertise in California Title 22 regulations, Medicare/Medi-Cal guidelines, MDS processes, and nursing home clinical workflows.
Knowledge:
Superior leadership, communication, interpersonal conflict resolution, and clinical problem-solving skills.
