They will have direct oversight of the Assistant Unit Director and collaborate with medical directors and staff. The incumbent is responsible for patient care programs, quality assurance, and resource management. This role serves as a professional nursing role model and supports UCSF's mission. 3-5 years of nursing O.R. management experience with progressive and in-depth expertise in perioperative services. Pediatric experience. Bachelor's degree in nursing is required, with a preference for a Master's degree. Registered Nurse license in the State of California is mandatory upon start date. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to foster and promote and environment of effective communication and collaborative decision making across multiple units and disciplines. Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare IT, patient care workflows, and processes Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork and collaboration. Ensures Magnet structure and processes are implemented and maintained by promoting evidence-based practices and collaborative governance. Knowledge of professional standards for the operating room and AORN membership. American Heart Association BLS certification is required. CNOR or nursing administration certification is preferred. Ability to pass a background check and flexibility to work at multiple UCSF Health locations. Prefer candidates with with experience in an academic medical center setting.
