Job Description

Harbor Village Health & Rehabilitation Center, located in New London, CT, is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) ready to advance into a key leadership position.
Summary of position:
The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Center, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
What You'll Do:
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Ensure compliance with all federal and state healthcare regulations (CMS, DPH, etc.) Manage staffing levels, schedules, and team performance Oversee care planning, resident assessments, infection control, and quality assurance programs Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident/family communication Prepare for and lead facility surveys and audits Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with the Administrator on budgeting and departmental operations
Qualifications Required:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut At least three (3) years of nursing leadership experience in a healthcare setting Working knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards of practice, and state/federal compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a DON or ADON in a skilled nursing facility Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (BSN or ADN) Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills Familiarity with electronic health records and performance management tools
