Assisted Living Director of Nursing (DON)

The Assisted Living Director of Nursing (DON) leads the nursing department, overseeing resident care, staff management, regulatory compliance, and clinical policies.

As a senior leader, the DON will develop care plans, hire and mentor staff, and communicate with families and physicians to ensure high-quality care, reporting to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership:

Overseeing nursing care to ensure quality, including developing care plans and managing clinical outcomes.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local regulations to ensure safety and survey preparedness.

Staff Management:

Recruiting, training, scheduling, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs, RNs).

Resident and Family Relations:

Communicating with families, physicians, and staff to address health concerns and ensure a supportive environment.

Budgeting & Operations:

Managing the nursing department budget, policies, procedures, and staffing ratios.

Qualifications Licensure:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Experience:

Previous leadership experience in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care.

Skills:

Strong communication, leadership, and regulatory knowledge, along with proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).

Pay:

$48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
