Director of Nursing

Job Summary To manage the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with Company policies, standards of nursing practices and governmental regulations to maintain excellent care of all residents' needs. Responsibilities Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below and be able to work in the described environment. Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized governmental agencies. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, policies/procedures and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility. Participate and or facilitate Department Meetings, Morning Clinical Meetings, Resident Care Plan Meetings, Budget Committee Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings, Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee Meetings, In-service Education, Family Council, and any other meeting as directed by the Administrator. Work closely with Administrator in resolving grievances with nursing staff, family members, and residents. Provide direct nursing care, as necessary. In conjunction with the NHA, inform the state of any reportable incidents within appropriate time frames. Complete investigative analysis as required, and file reports based on state guidelines. Review Infection Control Reports, Medication Incident Reports, Resident Incident Reports and facilitate corrective action. Be on call for emergencies that supervisory personnel cannot handle. Participate in Clinical Nursing On Call Schedule/Process. Meet monthly with nursing staff regarding Chart Audits and Physician's orders. Review audits with Medical Records prior to submitting to Administration. Delegate to nursing service supervisory personnel the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties. Make rounds in all resident care areas a minimum of daily. Ensure that the risk portal, UDAs, and all other required reports (I.e., 24 hr. reports, missed med report, UDA and POC completion reports, survey preparation documentation, etc.), are maintained and or completed in a timely manner. Qualifications Registered Nurse in good standing with required current state license. Five (5) years' clinical experience. Two (2) years management experience Infection Control and Prevention Certification Current / Active CPR Certification Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Internet, and Intranet navigation. Exhibits professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives. Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to deal with new tasks, work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions. Pay:

$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
