We are currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team at GA Diagnostic & Classification State Prison (GDCP) in Jackson, GA. This role is ideal for experienced nurse leaders who thrive in high-volume, structured environments and can maintain strong leadership presence in a fast-paced correctional intake facility. GDCP is the primary intake center for the state, requiring decisive leadership, operational control, and consistent execution. - And more indmhm #AM Qualifications Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides operational oversight and direct supervision of nursing and support staff within a large, secure correctional facility.
- Supervise and support nursing and support staff within a secure correctional environment
- Ensure delivery of care in compliance with Centurion policies, GDOC regulations, and security procedures
- Maintain staff accountability, performance standards, and workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with providers, mental health, and custody teams to support daily operations
- Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling oversight, and coverage planning
- Respond to clinical and operational issues in real time, ensuring continuity of care
- Provide direct and indirect patient care as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting
- Reinforce safety, infection control, and institutional protocols consistently Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact license | Must be active
- Current CPR certification | Must be active
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required
- Ability to obtain required security clearance, including drug screen and background check Preferred Experience (Highly Valued)
- Correctional, forensic, or secure behavioral health environment
- Emergency Department (ER), ICU, or high-acuity leadership experience
- Experience managing staff in fast-paced, high-volume settings
- Strong background in compliance, audits, and policy-driven environments
