Director of Nursing (DON)Lead with Compassion. Make a Difference. Are you an experienced nurse ready to take the next step into leadership? We are a small, private pay nursing home in beautiful Decorah, Iowa . We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team. Our smaller size gives our Director of Nursing the opportunity to truly know our residents and their families, support your staff personally and see the impact of your leadership every day. Here, you aren't just another member of a large corporate organization . We are looking for a leader who believes excellent care starts with strong relationships, teamwork, accountability, and respect . As Director of Nursing, you will: Provide leadership and direction to our nursing department Support, mentor, and develop nurses, C.M.A.'s and CNAs Promote high-quality, resident-centered care Oversee nursing practices, policies, documentation, and clinical systems Assist with staffing and development of a strong nursing team Work collaboratively with the Administrator and other department leaders Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal nursing home requirements Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff Help create a positive workplace where employees feel valued and supported
Requirements:
Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Strong clinical nursing skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities A compassionate, approachable leadership style Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and quality of life Long-term care experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred We encourage experienced nurses with strong leadership potential to apply.
