Job Description

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department. The ADON ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and accepted standards of nursing practice. The ADON serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while promoting resident-centered care and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Assist with supervision and leadership of nursing staff. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Support resident assessments, care planning, and clinical oversight. Assist with staff education, performance management, and scheduling. Participate in quality assurance, infection control, and survey preparedness. Address resident, family, and staff concerns in a professional manner. Serve as acting Director of Nursing when needed.
Qualifications:
Current RN license in good standing. Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of nursing regulations and standards of care.
