Full Job Description Clinical Leadership:
Overseeing the delivery of nursing care to residents, ensuring it aligns with established standards and protocols. Assessing resident needs, developing individualized care plans, and monitoring progress. Providing clinical guidance and support to nursing staff.
Staff Management:
Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new nursing staff Training and developing nursing staff through ongoing education and performance evaluations Scheduling and assigning nursing staff to meet resident needs Addressing staff concerns and maintaining a positive work environment
Quality Assurance:
Implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care Reviewing resident records and charting to ensure accuracy and compliance Identifying and addressing potential quality issues
Regulatory Compliance:
Staying informed about and adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing home care Ensuring the facility is compliant with quality standards and reporting requirements
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicating effectively with residents, families, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and facility leadership Collaborating with other departments within the nursing home to coordinate resident care
Administrative Duties:
Managing the nursing department budget and allocating resources effectively Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures Monitoring staffing levels and making adjustments as needed Participating in resident care conferences and meetings Required qualifications for a Director of Nursing position: Current registered nurse (RN) license Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred Significant experience in nursing leadership roles within a long-term care setting Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric nursing practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to manage teams and budgets Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
