Director of Nursing

Overview Nova Vital Recovery is expanding to the Natchitoches area and we are searching a for a Director of Nursing to join our amazing and growing team!! We are excited about our growth and are looking for the perfect individual to add to our amazing team. We are seeking a highly qualified and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Nursing. This pivotal role requires an individual with a comprehensive understanding of nursing management, healthcare administration, and educational leadership. The successful candidate will oversee nursing operations, ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and excellence. This position offers an opportunity to influence healthcare standards while leading a dedicated team committed to quality and innovation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures that general health assessments are completed for all clients. Facilitates referrals to physicians, dentists, and other health care professionals as indicated by the assessed needs of each client. Oversees the approval process of incoming clients for meeting medical criteria. Provides assistance to emergency services department personnel in determining the appropriateness for admissions as needed. Participates in clinical staff meetings. Maintains appropriate client health records. Provides oversight of medication protocols, detoxification protocols, and drug screening procedures. Supervises all agency nursing personnel and performs all introductory and annual performance ratings of nursing staff. Ensures certification of CPR/First Aid for identified direct care staff. Is available to nursing department and other staff to address concerns, provide after-hour directives and help problem solve client-related issues. Ensures the flow of information both horizontally and vertically within the organization to utilize resources and increase quality and productivity of the program and services more effectively. Assures appropriate documentation for contract and system requirements and clinical best practice. Demonstrates effective organizational skills and supervisory skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

The Director of Nursing must have a minimum of a current LA Registered Nurse (RN) license.
