Lifeworks is hiring a full time Associate Director of Nursing to work with Individuals with ID/DD. We are a nonprofit human service agency that provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live engaged and meaningful lives. We're searching for an enthusiastic individual who will bring their personality, an independent work ethic, and a strong belief in enhancing the lives of those we serve. Supervises nurses at two homes with dedicated nursing staff. At one home, directly supervises the Clinical Lead. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Essential Duties:
Supervise, direct, and evaluate the nursing staff as assigned. Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating healthcare-related and nursing specific policies, procedures, and systems. Assist in managing the scheduling of staff and ensure adequate coverage. Assist in maintaining compliance with healthcare related and nursing specific regulatory standards and requirements. Provides MAP oversight to staff working within the Medication Administration Program (MAP) Provides oversight of specialized training on an individual's specific health care needs Conducts quality assurance reviews (Medication Audits) by utilizing the Technical Assistance Tool. Provide emergency/episodic care to individuals when needed and counsels staff on any daily health care problems (including first aid and emergency situations). Provide educational training, counseling, and physical assistance when necessary to achieve ISP goals, and provides regular in-service training. Act as an agency wide resource person to program staff, individuals, families, and care providers regarding health issues and concerns. Provide off-duty 24-hour on call coverage on a regularly scheduled, alternating basis. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in emergent situations. Attends meetings, in-services, ISP's, significant medical appointments, and case conferences as necessary. Provide support and back up to the Director of Nursing as needed. Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and scheduling of overall program nursing coverage, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with at least five years of nursing management experience and Current Massachusetts RN license Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks Nice to have: Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD Valid Driver's License required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent Benefits package that includes: 403(B) matching up to 3% $2,000.00 Staff Retention Bonus after 1 year•Health Insurance with 2 plan choices and a 75% employer contribution.
