As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will assist with planning and supervising the twenty-four-hour operation of the facility to ensure the delivery of quality resident care. This position acts as a resident advocate by managing resident care as well as hiring, guiding, developing, and evaluating your nursing team. This position will be in charge of Infection Control. As the infection control nurse, you will specialize in identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection. This position will assist with modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents, in accordance with established medical practices and state and facility requirements.

How you will help people every day: You will assess residents to ascertain their condition and to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed You will implement standards of nursing practice through the formulation of policies and procedures, and direct the maintenance of required department records. You will develop and revise infection control policies and procedures. You will investigate suspected outbreaks of infection. Provide consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies. Keep abreast of trends and developments in the area of extended care facility patient care techniques; follow federal and state skilled nursing facility regulations. You will research, design, and implement in-service programs on topics requested to reinforce operational policies/procedures, introduce new techniques, and/or address identified areas of deficiency. You will supervise the nursing team including giving direction & assignments, offering training, and deliver recognition and evaluations. What you will need to be part of our EPIC team: Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, or higher, and a superior level of knowledge in nursing management in order to manage resident care, and manage large and diverse groups of nursing personnel. Current license to practice as an RN Registered Nurse in Michigan; current CPR-BLS certification 3+ years of experience in a long term care facility Clinical knowledge of long term care nursing, with ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond to resident needs in a long term care and rehabilitation environment.
