We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our Skilled Nursing Department while upholding our commitment to exceptional, resident-centered care. Position Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and clinical excellence of the nursing department. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while delivering the highest quality of care and fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all nursing services and programs Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives Collaborate with Executive Director, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary teams Clinical Oversight Oversee resident care delivery and nursing operations Participate in admissions, care planning, and discharge processes Ensure care plans are implemented, updated, and followed Monitor medication administration, treatments, and clinical documentation Staff Management Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) Develop staffing plans and schedules to meet resident needs Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development Ensure licensure compliance and competency of all nursing personnel Regulatory & Quality Compliance Maintain readiness for state surveys and audits Develop and update policies, procedures, and standards of care Oversee infection control, safety, and risk management practices Investigate incidents, complaints, and grievances Resident Experience Promote resident rights, dignity, and respect Ensure person-centered care and strong communication with families Foster a compassionate, supportive care environment Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience in healthcare Minimum 3+ years in long-term care Current CPR certification Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Point Click Care Why Join St. Ann's Home?
