Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing for our Skilled Nursing facility to lead and oversee all clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management, fostering a compassionate environment that promotes resident well-being, staff development, and operational excellence. Duties Provide visionary leadership to nursing staff, including nurse managers and clinical teams, to ensure high-quality resident care across all shifts. Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to residents' individual needs, utilizing comprehensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Oversee regulatory compliance related to long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, HIPAA privacy standards, and documentation review processes. Manage staffing schedules and shift assignments effectively to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing resource utilization. Supervise the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient care and medical records. Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to policies. Lead efforts in quality assurance initiatives related to resident safety, infection control, memory care programs, and regulatory inspections. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including social workers, therapists, and physicians—to coordinate comprehensive care strategies. Facilitate ongoing staff training on topics such as hospice care, home health services, acute care procedures, and long-term care regulations. Promote a positive work environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork, and open communication among staff members. Experience Proven nursing leadership experience within skilled nursing or long-term care facilities with a focus on management or supervisory roles. Extensive knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards. Demonstrated expertise in managing care facility teams through supervising staff performance and conducting administrative clinical supervision. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in nursing homes or home health agencies for patient documentation and medical records management. Experience working with diverse resident populations including memory care residents and those requiring hospice or home health services. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the clinical aspects of patient care in a skilled nursing setting. Ability to lead quality improvement initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance across all facets of nursing operations. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with residents' families effectively. Management experience involving shift management, resource allocation, and overseeing nursing administration functions. $110,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
