Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic RN - Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and oversee all clinical operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, with a strong background in assisted living, nursing home care, home health, hospice services, and acute care environments. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional management skills, a thorough understanding of medical records and documentation review, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Director of Nursing will ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care, compliance with healthcare regulations, and the effective management of nursing staff. Responsibilities Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment. Develop, implement, and monitor resident care plans tailored to individual needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA. Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and accurate coding for billing purposes. Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA privacy rules and safety protocols. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes across assisted living, hospice care, home health, and acute care settings. Manage staffing schedules for shift management to ensure adequate coverage at all times while maintaining quality standards. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems effectively for documentation and reporting. Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation review processes to maintain compliance and accuracy. Lead efforts in staff training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and nursing best practices. Support the development of care plans that align with regulatory requirements and resident needs while managing resources efficiently. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure required. Extensive experience in nursing home administration, assisted living facilities, or related healthcare environments such as home health or hospice care. Proven supervisory experience managing nursing teams with strong nurse management skills. In-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations, reimbursement processes, and compliance standards. Familiarity with EMR systems, EHR systems, and medical records management tools. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation review procedures. Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to motivate staff and collaborate across departments. Experience managing care plans within diverse settings including acute care environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure resident privacy and data security are maintained at all times.
