Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional patient care in a Long Term Care setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing administration and management, with a commitment to enhancing the quality of care in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization. Duties Lead and manage nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to best practices. Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of residents while ensuring compliance with Medicare regulations. Oversee the assessment process using the Minimum Data Set (MDS) to evaluate resident needs and develop appropriate interventions. Ensure accurate documentation and review of medical records, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes through effective communication and coordinated care efforts. Manage shift schedules and staffing levels to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of care. Conduct regular training sessions for nursing staff on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and EMR/EHR systems. Foster an environment that encourages professional development, leadership growth, and teamwork among nursing personnel. Experience A valid nursing license with significant experience in nursing administration or management roles is required. Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, home health, hospice care, or acute care settings is essential. Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills in nurse management. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems is necessary. In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, documentation review processes, and regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with staff, residents, families, and other stakeholders.
