Job Description

Assistant Director of Nursing, RN Job description At the present time, we are looking for a caring, nurturing Associate Director of Nursing- RN to oversee a staff of resident care aides, medication aides and LPN Supervisors in the busy Wellness/Resident Services Department of our luxury Assisted Living Community. We are looking for someone with strong management skills who can handle emergency situations with tact and professionalism under minimal supervision. Acting as the Interim DON in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Administrative staff, you will provide Resident's assistance with ADLs, overseeing the administration of their medications while supervising staff, handling emergencies, and interacting with families visiting the community during business hours. Adhering to instructions of the Director of Nursing , you will perform your duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, while providing care services with kindness and compassion to the Residents. This is a hands-on position requiring occasional participation in assisting Residents with ADLs to ensure their safety and comfort needs are met.
Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday 9am-5:30pm The ideal candidate will have: Staff supervisory and medication oversight experience preferably in an Assisted Living, Nursing Home or similar environment. Minimum of 3 - 5 years' staff supervisory experience in a geriatric setting Experience with Assessments, Care Planning and Re-Assessments Strong management and supervisory skillsAn active RN License with the capability of providing excellence in the quality of life of to our residents Experience with Dementia and/or Alzheimer's patients a mustMust be caring, reliable, ethical and observant with an understanding of MARs and doctors' orders Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure. Use of compassion, tact and courtesy relating with Residents, Resident families, employees, and visitors
