We combine advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered care to provide high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical services. Our center primarily provides care in Orthopedics, Pain Management, and Breast & Plastic Surgery , creating a convenient and welcoming environment for patients while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and safety. Position Summary ABQ Surgery Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing services and clinical operations. The DON will provide clinical and operational leadership in a fast-paced, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery environment. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience while leading and developing a dedicated nursing team. The ideal candidate is an experienced nursing leader who is collaborative, organized, clinically strong, and committed to patient safety, staff development, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. What You'll Do Lead, mentor, and manage nursing and clinical teams within a multi-specialty surgical setting. Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical process. Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection prevention, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Oversee staffing, scheduling, staff competencies, education, and performance. Monitor and manage clinical supplies and resources to support efficient operations. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and administrative leadership. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical standards as needed. Drive quality improvement and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience, clinical efficiency, and operational performance. Serve as the clinical leader and primary resource for nursing staff, providers, patients, and families. Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. What You'll Bring Active Registered Nurse (RN) license . Current BLS and ACLS certifications . Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience . Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or multi-specialty surgical setting preferred . Strong knowledge of surgical workflows, sedation practices, infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory/accreditation standards. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate clinical teams. Excellent communication, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, clinical staff, patients, and administrative leadership. Strong commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
