Lovelace Westside Hospital For over 40 years, Lovelace Westside Hospital, a 50-bed community hospital, has provided quality care to Albuquerque's Westside and Rio Rancho communities. It is home to a 24-hour emergency department, where patients can see a provider in about 30 minutes or less. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), bariatric, and orthopedic specialties. This role will provide leadership and operational oversight for approximately 50 FTEs across five perioperative departments, including six operating rooms and two procedure rooms
POSITION SUMMARY
The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. The nurse director is a change agent, and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians. Responsible for overall administrative, financial and clinical activities of assigned departments. Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Provide clinical leadership for quality, patient experience, physician engagement, regulatory compliance, and departmental standards. Develop and oversee quality initiatives, staffing/productivity guidelines, policies, and programs that support safe, effective patient care. Lead staff orientation, education, professional development, and ongoing competency initiatives. Foster a culture of empathy, collaboration, accountability, and service excellence. Business & Operational Leadership Execute strategic plans and lead mentoring, coaching, leadership development, and succession planning. Partner with marketing and nursing leadership on community outreach, visibility, and growth initiatives. Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, using financial forecasts to guide resource and expenditure decisions. Identify opportunities to enhance revenue, improve productivity, and reduce or contain costs.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Bachelors in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19 if applicant does not have a BSN - must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion. Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing. Minimum of 3 years' clinical nursing experience and 1-3 years experience in management.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing and/or related field Strongly prefer experience in surgical departments Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration #LI-AG1
