Full Job Description Description:
Mount Notre Dame Health Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Nursing Department and ensure high-quality, compassionate care for the Sisters who call our community home. We are looking for a strong clinical leader who can balance quality care, regulatory compliance, staffing, and department operations while creating a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for both Sisters and staff. The DON plays a key role in strengthening teamwork, developing employees, improving retention, and building a culture where staff feel valued and accountable. This position requires flexibility to respond to operational and clinical needs, including occasional work outside of normal business hours, weekends, holidays, or emergency situations. Requirements:
Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department. Hire, supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate nursing staff. Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, communication, accountability, and staff retention. Coordinate staffing and coverage to ensure the Sisters' needs are consistently met. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and long-term care standards. Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor clinical documentation, assessments, and nursing practices. Participate in surveys, investigations, and plans of correction. Promote Resident Rights, dignity, privacy, safety, and person-centered care. Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments on staffing, licensure, compliance, and operational needs. Assist with scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, meetings, and other department operations. Provide clinical or administrative support when needed. Qualifications Current RN license in the State of Ohio . Minimum 3 years of long-term care experience . Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and survey requirements. Demonstrated nursing leadership and staff management experience. Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. PointClickCare experience preferred.
