An Assistant Director of Nursing manages and supervises all nursing staff at a hospital or long term care facility. Manages communications with physicians, manages budgets and expenses, and assists other administrators with managing operations. Monitors staff schedules and the quality of nursing care at the facility. Maintains professional license or certification requirements.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at Warr Acres Nursing Center. As a key member of our Nursing Services department, you will assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the department in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Services department Interpret and communicate policies and procedures to nursing staff and monitor staff practices and implementation Participate in all admission decisions and daily/weekly management team meetings Evaluate the work performance of all nursing personnel and implement discipline according to operational policies Participate in QAPI or facility assessment activities, such as performance improvement committees Ensure delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidenced by adequate staff coverage on the units, general cleanliness, and maintaining optimal resident functions Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team, physicians, consultants, and community agencies to identify and resolve issues and improve the quality of services Assist with oversight of nursing schedules to ensure resident needs, regulatory, and budget standards are met
Requirements:
A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related healthcare facility Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care Current CPR certification
