The ideal candidate demonstrates strong nursing leadership, knowledge of infection prevention standards, regulatory compliance, excellent communication, organization, and the ability to support a safe, respectful, and high-quality care environment for residents and staff. Job Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing/Infection Preventionist (ADON/IP) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations, staff supervision, resident care, and regulatory compliance while leading the facility's infection prevention and control program.
Duties include:
Tracking infections, conducting audits, staff education, maintaining infection control documentation, coordinating isolation precautions, ensuring proper sanitation and PPE practices, and reporting required health information. Supervising nursing staff Assisting with hiring, training, and scheduling Performance management, and ensuring high-quality resident care and safety. Developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention policies and procedures in compliance with CDC, OSHA, HIPAA, Medicare, state, and federal regulations Staff education and in-services Interdisciplinary collaboration Participation in committees and surveys Maintaining medical documentation and EMR compliance Supporting resident and employee health programs Assisting with departmental planning, equipment, and supply oversight. Qualifications Summary Qualified candidates must hold a nursing degree from an accredited college or university and maintain an active nursing license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing, including required continuing education. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Candidates should have 2-5 years of nursing and leadership experience, preferably in a long-term care setting, along with knowledge of infection prevention practices, including epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, aseptic technique, and standard/universal precautions.Pay:
