September 15, 2026 The Coos Watershed Association (Association) is seeking a Monitoring Restoration Technician II to join the team! The Association is seeking a qualified person to join our dynamic team and fill the Monitoring Restoration Technician II position. This is an at-will, temporary, hourly, non-exempt position. The Monitoring Restoration Technician II will work up to 40 hours per week, primarily in the field (exact hours may vary seasonally). This is a seasonal, grant-funded position. About theAssociation:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, conducting stream surveys, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying future project opportunities. These duties are a representative example of the position's expectations; actual duties assigned may vary depending on funding and Association needs. Conduct perennial stream surveys within forest harvest operation areas Assist in restoration effectiveness monitoring, including instream Aquatic Inventory (AQI) habitat surveys Assist with fish salvage at habitat restoration projects Collect GPS data on project sites QA/QC field data sheets and input into the monitoring database Safely operate tools and equipment in the execution of the above duties Communicate respectfully and effectively with other staff, supervisors, board, and partners Maintain a team player mentality and pitch in as needed to help ensure all aspects of the Association's work are successful Consistently approach challenges, setbacks, and changes with a solutions-oriented mindset and commitment to positively contributing to team morale Perform duties safely in accordance with the Coos Watershed Association Forestry Safety and Health Plan All other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:
1 year of related field work experience Hold a high school diploma Ability to safely and effectively work independently in the field, without direct supervision Strong interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective, professional, and collaborative relationships with staff and project partners Excellent ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing Excellent time management skills and ability to be productive in a collaborative work environment Ability to work independently, execute tasks, and adhere to project timelines Ability to adjust to a variable work schedule based on project needs (i.e., early mornings, long hours, seasonal fluctuations, etc.) and ability to work in varied work environments and conditions (i.e., cold temperatures, hot temperatures, windy, wet, dry, etc.) Must be 18 years old Ability to lift 40 pounds and traverse over difficult terrain carrying a 25 lb. backpack (up to 10 miles a day) Must have a current driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle to use daily for work purposes, including driving on forest service roadsPreferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in forestry, environmental, biological, natural resource science field surveying Have taken coursework, are currently enrolled, or hold a degree in environmental science, biology, forestry, or natural resource science, or a similar field Experience withODFW AQI
protocols Experience with fish seining Computer skills, including GIS, Microsoft Office, and GPS equipmentSupervision:
The Restoration Monitoring Technician II reports to the Monitoring Program Manager. They will work under the daily supervision of the Monitoring Specialist and Hydrological Specialist.Working Conditions:
The Association's office is generally open during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although our work hours span from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and may include nights and weekends, with some schedule flexibility available with approval. Employees' presence may be required at designated internal and external meetings even if they fall outside your normal workday schedule. The work involves indoor office-type work and outdoor work, including some strenuous physical exertion such as lifting objects weighing 40 pounds, walking with a backpack for extended periods of time, while also safely traversing rough terrain. The employee may be exposed to a variety of potential hazards associated with working near streams and near traffic. The employee, on occasion, will be required to traverse uneven terrain for up to 10 miles per day. Employees must be able to adjust to a variable work schedule based on project needs (i.e., early mornings, long hours, seasonal fluctuations, etc.) and the ability to work in varied work environments and conditions (i.e., cold temperatures, hot temperatures, windy, wet, dry, etc.) How To Apply Submit cover letter (include start date availability), résumé, and contact information for three references to admin@cooswatershed.org.
