Apply Now Job Summary Are you passionate about advancing nursing practice through research, mentorship, and innovation? Geisinger is seeking a Director, Nursing Research to lead the development and growth of nursing-led research initiatives across our health system. This unique role is jointly funded by the Geisinger Research Institute and Nursing Research, providing an opportunity to influence both clinical practice and nursing education while fostering a culture of inquiry and evidence-based care. Job Duties Leads the 12-month Nursing Research Fellowship and collaborates closely with Geisinger School of Nursing (GSON) faculty to advance both clinical and educational nursing research. This position is jointly funded by the Research Institute and Nursing Research. Direct and oversee all aspects of the 12-month fellowship program, ensuring a structured, high-impact experience for participants. Provide guidance and mentorship to nurses conducting clinical research, building capability and confidence in scholarly inquiry. Facilitate appropriate access to health system data and ensure its effective use to support nursing and interprofessional research initiatives. Guide fellows and nursing staff through IRB preparation, submission, and compliance for nursing-led research projects. Support and promote the presentation and publication of research through peer-reviewed journals, internal forums, and national venues. Foster an environment that values curiosity, mentorship, and evidence-based practice within nursing and educational programs. Partner with GSON faculty to design and execute educational research initiatives that advance nursing education and practice. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Position Details In this role, you will: Lead and oversee Geisinger's 12-month Nursing Research Fellowship Program, creating a structured and meaningful experience for nurse fellows. Mentor and support nurses engaged in clinical research, building research capability and confidence across the organization. Facilitate access to health system data and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance nursing and healthcare research initiatives. Guide nursing researchers through the IRB process, ensuring compliance and successful project execution. Champion the dissemination of research through publications, presentations, and local, regional, and national conferences. Partner with Geisinger School of Nursing faculty to develop and conduct educational research that advances nursing education and professional practice. Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, scholarship, and evidence-based practice throughout Geisinger. We're looking for a leader who: Has a passion for nursing research and mentorship. Excels at building collaborative relationships across clinical, academic, and research settings. Is committed to advancing nursing science and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. This is a hybrid, system-wide position with some travel required. Home office location will be based on the candidate's region. Education Doctoral Degree- (Required) Experience Minimum of 5 years-Clinical (Required) Certification(s) and License(s) Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
