Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Skilled Nursing Dunwoody Village - Newtown Square, PA 7:00am-4:00pm Join the Team at Dunwoody Village Dunwoody Village is a welcoming and engaging senior living community dedicated to health, wellness, and providing the highest quality of life for residents. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our nursing leadership team supporting our Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care community. This is a Day Shift leadership position responsible for assisting in the oversight of clinical operations, nursing staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and quality resident care throughout the Skilled Nursing community. Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily clinical and operational functions of the Skilled Nursing department. This leadership role supports nursing staff, ensures regulatory compliance, promotes quality outcomes, and helps maintain exceptional resident-centered care for residents in both Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. The ideal candidate is a collaborative clinical leader with strong organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, and a passion for mentoring and supporting nursing teams. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Resident Care Assist in overseeing daily nursing operations within the Skilled Nursing community Support resident assessments, care planning, and clinical oversight Ensure nursing interventions and care plans are implemented appropriately Monitor resident outcomes and quality indicators Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care Promote resident safety, dignity, comfort, and quality of life Staff Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to nursing staff and unit leadership Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, and daily operational needs Participate in staff coaching, education, and performance management Support orientation and ongoing training of nursing staff Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on resident-centered care Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Participate in QAPI initiatives, audits, and quality improvement activities Support survey readiness efforts and Department of Health preparation Monitor documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance Ensure incident reporting, follow-up investigations, and corrective actions are completed appropriately Operational Responsibilities Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, residents, and families Assist in implementing nursing policies, procedures, and best practices Monitor electronic clinical systems including PCC, EMAR, and Point of Care documentation Participate in emergency preparedness and safety procedures Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-services Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current PA RN license required Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience required Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations Ability to lead and support staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred BSN preferred Previous ADON, Nurse Manager, or Unit Manager experience preferred Experience with survey preparation and regulatory compliance Experience with electronic medical record systems in Skilled Nursing settings Physical Requirements This position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and assisting residents throughout the shift. Candidates must be able to respond appropriately in emergency situations and work in a clinical healthcare environment.
