WINDSOR NURSING AND REHABILITATION CENTER OF BASTROP - BASTROP, TX

We're looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) who is a strong clinical leader, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the complexity of skilled nursing operations, regulatory compliance, and team development. Position Overview The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the nursing department in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staffing effectiveness, and positive clinical outcomes. The DON partners closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to drive quality measures, survey readiness, staff retention, and operational success. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Quality of Care Oversee all nursing operations within the skilled nursing / long-term care facility Ensure delivery of high-quality care in accordance with federal (CMS), state, and local regulations Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, quality measures, and patient satisfaction Lead and support care plan processes, including MDS, PDPM, and interdisciplinary collaboration Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness Maintain ongoing survey readiness and compliance with CMS guidelines Lead response efforts for state surveys, audits, and quality assurance initiatives Ensure proper documentation, policy adherence, and clinical standards are consistently met Staffing & Team Development Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of nursing staff (RNs, LVNs, CNAs) Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling to meet resident care needs Coach and develop nurse leaders, including ADONs, Unit Managers, and Charge Nurses Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment Operations & Performance Monitor key performance indicators including staffing, overtime, turnover, and clinical metrics Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, labor management, and operational goals Participate in Quality Assurance (QA/QAPI) programs and continuous improvement initiatives Collaboration & Communication Partner with the Administrator, Medical Director, and department heads Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams Address resident care concerns and ensure timely resolution QualificationsEducation & Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (required) Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Experience Required:
