Full Job Description Responsibilities:
Oversees a team responsible for supervising personnel working with MCH physicians including licensed and non-licensed clinical personnel and medical secretaries to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, medical care within a service-oriented care environment. Ensures the creation of a work climate that fosters physician and employee satisfaction and organizational commitment through communication with both clinical and operational leadership. Ensures the delivery of cost-effective care and service. Develops and implements departmental priorities that enhance MCH's strategic plan, achieve agreed upon outcomes, and advance evidenced-based practice and patient safety. Ensures the provision of effective training and development opportunities for department personnel and leaders in order to continually improve departmental and organizational performance. Develops talent to ensure ongoing departmental success and development. Leads, participates, and collaborates with interdepartmental teams, workgroups, and committees that support organizational priorities. The Director of Nursing plays a key role in overseeing the implementation, optimization, and daily use of the EPIC electronic medical record system within the nursing department. This includes ensuring that physicians and nursing staff are properly trained on EPIC, promoting efficient and accurate documentation practices, and collaborating with other departments to improve workflow and patient care through effective use of the systemQualifications:
Previous experience in a nursing leadership role in an acute care setting required. In addition, some experience in a nursing leadership role in an ambulatory setting preferred. Knowledge of administration and safe practices of an infusion center. Knowledge of healthcare market and healthcare administration including clinic operations, finances, and managed care. Ability to collaborate, communicate, and negotiate effectively. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work effectively with others at different levels of the organization. Skills associated with healthcare business principles.Education/Experience Requirements:
BSN Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing (Master's degree preferred) Unrestricted license /compact license to practice in the State of Texas Minimum of five (5) years of nursing leadership experience in acute care setting required EPIC (EMR -Electronic Medical Records) experiencePhysical Requirements:
Able to stand at least 75% of the time; Able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients; Able to sit, walk, carry 50 lbs., push, pull, reach, handle, bend, kneel, crouch; Has manual and finger dexterity; Has full range of motion in back.Similar jobs in Houston, TX
