Duties Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management Direct the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, overseeing data collection, analysis, and execution of improvement initiatives. Direct the Infection Prevention and Control Program to ensure compliance with national guidelines. Supervise risk management activities and create strategies to identify and mitigate safety concerns for patients and staff. Maintain complete compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations including Medicare Conditions for Coverage, HIPAA, OSHA, and accreditation standards from AAAHC or The Joint Commission. Leadership and Personnel Management Guide clinical support staff and the nursing team, fostering a professional, collaborative environment. Lead recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, and retention efforts alongside the HR department. Oversee staff competencies and provide ongoing education focused on ambulatory surgical care and specialty procedures. Foster an environment of accountability, empathy, and teamwork to build a high-performing clinical workforce. Operations and Resource Coordination Coordinate daily clinical operations across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care within a high-volume surgery center. Create nurse and surgical tech schedules to support operational flow and ensure proper coverage for all surgical cases. Partner with the Center Administrator to manage the clinical budget, focusing on supply utilization and labor cost efficiency. Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and readiness of specialized surgical instruments and equipment like microscopes and lasers. Maintain productive communication with physicians, anesthesia providers, administrators, and vendors to support daily operations and long-term center goals. Required Qualifications Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus in Operating Room (OR) or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings. At least 3 years of experience in a nursing management or supervisory role as a Director of Nursing in an Ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Proven knowledge of regulatory compliance including CMS, AAAHC or TJC, and state health department requirements. Competency with EHR systems and an understanding of resource and budget management. Strong organizational skills and critical thinking capabilities to problem-solve in a fast-paced surgical environment. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, not mandatory. Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration is a plus, not required. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire).
