We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our hospice clinical team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families during life's most important moments. About the Role The Hospice Director of Nursing (DON) provides overall clinical leadership, supervision, and management of hospice nursing services. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. This is a leadership role with significant impact - guiding an interdisciplinary team, driving quality improvement, and championing compassionate care at every level. What You'll Do Clinical Leadership Direct and oversee all hospice clinical services Ensure delivery of compassionate, evidence-based end-of-life care Monitor patient care plans and clinical outcomes Lead and participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings Ensure timely completion of assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation Staff Management Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused team culture Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), Texas regulations, and hospice standards Prepare for surveys and audits conducted by regulatory agencies Monitor documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance Quality AssurancePerformance Improvement (QAPI) Lead QAPI activities and track quality metrics Review incident reports, patient complaints, and adverse events Develop strategies to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes OperationsLeadership Collaborate with leadership on census growth and operational goals Assist with budgeting and resource management Participate in administrative on-call rotation and provide after-hours clinical guidance What We're Looking For EducationLicensure Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Experience Minimum 3 years of hospice nursing experience required Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred Strong knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations and Conditions of Participation Experience with electronic medical records and hospice documentation systems SkillsAttributes Exceptional leadership and team-building skills Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Deep commitment to compassionate, dignified end-of-life care What We Offer Competitive salary Performance bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays 401(k) Continuing education opportunities Mileage reimbursement Why Join Our Team?
