Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Throughput coordinates patient flow through the hospital and clinical coordination of care across the continuum. Responsibilities will include developing length of stay (LOS) and resource reduction strategies, capitalizing on facility best practices, providing facility specific LOS analysis and making recommendations for process improvement. The Director will also ensure that improvement opportunities are appropriately channeled to effect change, coordinate compliance initiatives with outside agencies, intervene with the hospitalists to address and resolve issues related to facility utilization and patient flow process and facilitate strong working relationships between the Shared Service Center (SSC) and hospital case management and admitting departments to promote effective utilization management through coordination of efforts involving patient flow.

What qualifications you will need:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing Five years related work experience Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Nursing or related field

Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:

Must have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas. Must have Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
