ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, organizes, develops, oversees, and directs the hospitals nursing services and other clinical functions across the system. Participates with the hospitals governing body, management, medical staff and clinical leaders in the hospitals decision-making structures and processes. Develops and implements plans for provision of patient care, patient care programs, policies and procedures that delineate how patient care needs are assessed and met by the institution. Speaks on behalf of clinical and nursing services to the same extent that other hospital leaders speak for their respective disciplines or departments and exercises final authority over those associated with the provision of clinical treatment, and services. Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes. Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science from an accredited school of nursing is required. Masters degree is preferred and is required in applicable states. Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience that is comparable to the Chief Nursing Officers authority and responsibility, the education and experience of peer leadership positions and commensurate with the scope and complexity of the hospital is required. Five years of nursing care experience, treatment experience with the complex medical, surgical patient population, and comprehensive acute medical and therapeutic/rehabilitative care management is required. Critical care experience is preferred. Requires the ability to develop, plan, and implement programs. Strong leadership, managerial, effective time management skills, and profit and loss experience is required. Requires the ability to function independently in relation to decision-making, planning, analysis, and problem resolution with input from appropriate leaders. Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must hold a current state RN license. BLS certification is required upon hire. ACLS certification is required within 6 months of hire. PALS certification is preferred. De-escalation training is required within 30 days of hire.
