From $90,000 per year Overview St. Francis Manchester, a nonprofit assisted living community in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. This is more than a clinical leadership role — it's an opportunity to shape the care experience for residents while leading and developing a dedicated team in a mission-driven environment. In this role, you will oversee nursing operations, support and mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of resident care while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and organized leader who is passionate about serving seniors and fostering a culture of dignity, respect, and quality care. Registered Nurses (RN) are encouraged to apply. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff and Registered Medication Aides Oversee day-to-day clinical operations within the assisted living community Maintain 24/7 on-call availability for clinical support Review and manage staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care Conduct resident assessments and monitor ongoing care needs Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans (ISPs) Participate in and lead care plan meetings with residents and families Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations and company policies Support staff training, development, and performance management Provide or delegate direct resident care as needed Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia Current CPR certification Prior experience in nursing leadership and staff supervision Experience in assisted living, senior living, or long-term care preferred Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care Additional Information St. Francis Manchester is a drug-free workplace.
