Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the nursing department Evaluates employee performance, completes evaluations, handles corrective action, and performance improvement planning Delegates and supervises the development and implementation of the resident assessment (MDS) and care plan, participating as necessary

Duties/Responsibilities:

Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the facility Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the DON as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department Assists in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care Participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or DON Participates in developing, implementing and updating the resident's written discharge plan Schedules daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met Participates in investigations of possible abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of assets Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of nursing management strategies Possesses knowledge of the nurse practice act as well as State and Federal regulations Demonstrates ability to work and communicate effectively and efficiently with residents and families, various departments, and other personnel

Education and Experience:

Possesses State of Wisconsin nursing license At least one years of supervisory experience in a nursing environment
