Job Description

ONLY LICENSED PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS WITH 3+ YEARS EXPERIENCE NEED APPLY.
The Facility Rehabilitation Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the facility's rehabilitation department to include supervision of the rehabilitation staff and all related administrative duties.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS 1.
Reports directly to the Administrator of the facility 2. ls given direction by the Vice President of Therapy Services 3. Works closely with the facility interdisciplinary team. 4. Oversees and supervises all members of the facility rehabilitation team. 5. Consults with the Restorative Nursing program (RNA).
JOB DUTIES
l. Implements and monitors the provision of facility Rehabilitation policy and procedures. 2. Set up annual department goals and objectives in conjunction with the facility needs. 3. Supervises rehabilitation staff and ensures effective rehabilitation staff orientation, training and ongoing competency. 4. Coordinates rehabilitation admissions and distribution of caseload. 5. Manages utilization, productivity and compliance for the rehabilitation department. 6. Acts as a rehabilitation case manager for Managed Care patients or other complex cases. 7. Assists in the case management/tracking of Medicare A rehabilitation cases under the PDPM system. 8. Recruits rehabilitation staff, as assigned. 9. Manages and analyzes department productivity and other statistics including billing. 10. Ensures that rehabilitation department is compliant with all regulatory issues. This includes assurance that department records are completed and maintained such as medical record documentation, reimbursement denials management and survey compliance requirements. 11. Oversees and analyzes quality assurance and outcomes programs. 12. Assists in the development and implementation of necessary clinical rehabilitation programs. 13. Monitors rehabilitation equipment and supply needs. 14. Represents the rehabilitation department in the interdisciplinary team at assigned meetings. 15. Oversees effective running of rehabilitation conference meetings. 16. Oversees provision of appropriate interdisciplinary education programs. 17. Maintains relationships with hospital therapists, physicians, case managers, discharge planners and other key community members. 18. Participates in the development and provides community education programs regarding facility rehabilitation services. 19. Provides direct patient treatment.
QUALIFICATIONS I.
PT, OTR or SLP who bas graduated from an approved
APTA, AOTA, ASHA
program and has current license or registration. 2. At least 3 years of experience as a therapist. 3. Supervisory and/or administrative experience in long term care rehabilitation, preferred. 4. Strong organizational and leadership skills. 5. Effective interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
