Shinnery Oaks Community A strong leadership opportunity is available at Shinnery Oaks Community. We are seeking a qualified Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) who is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to lead our in-house therapy team. This role is ideal for a Texas-licensed COTA who is passionate about mentoring staff, ensuring clinical excellence, and providing ethical, patient-centered care. Job Summary The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. This individual must demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and sound judgment to ensure appropriate therapy services are delivered to maximize patient outcomes and achieve discharge goals. The DOR participates in facility and company meetings, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and maintains a safe and effective therapy environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily rehabilitation department operations Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and organization of all documentation, including audits Coordinate staff schedules to maximize efficiency based on patient needs Develop and manage PRN staffing pool Implement and enhance clinical programs Lead recruitment, interviewing, and staff development Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback Manage corrective actions and support employee growth Build strong working relationships with staff, residents, families, and leadership Prepare and deliver reports; monitor and manage departmental budgets Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and infection control standards Qualifications Active Texas license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required Previous leadership experience preferred Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred Strong knowledge of current therapy practices Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work with diverse patient populations and team members #IND1
