- Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Performs IV starts and administers contrast as required.
- Provides on-call coverage outside of standard hours as per department and facility policy.
- Inputs charges and required data for procedures and supplies used during exams.
- Completes necessary hospital and medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed.
- Maintains technical operation of equipment, notifies service when necessary, and logs service calls or problems per department procedure.
- Maintains a clean work area for employees and patients, ensuring quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.
- Performs imaging procedures while ensuring safety, adhering to radiation safety regulations to minimize exposure.
- Produces quality images accurately and promptly.
- Prepares patients for exams by providing information and instructions, and addressing their physical and emotional needs.
- Assists and positions patients during exams, observing and documenting any unusual occurrences.
