Job Description:
Assists physicians and co-workers to ensure quality patient care. Answers general patient questions about testing procedures and equipment use. Greets patients, escorts them to the testing area, and explains testing procedures to ensure comfort and relaxation. Performs equipment setup and patient hook-up in a timely and effective manner. Independently measures, marks, and applies EEG scalp electrodes, adjusting and customizing settings as needed. Ensures quality recordings by maintaining low impedances and replacing electrodes or sensors as necessary. Documents all required data on tech sheets and tech notes throughout the recording. Recognizes life-threatening abnormalities, takes appropriate action, and documents the actions taken. Ensures a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and emergency procedures. Cleans and disinfects electrodes, application items, and sensors. Attends meetings and participates in departmental projects and quality assurance programs. Maintains departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to successfully perform EEG recordings [Required]
Education:
Bachelor's [Preferred] High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
or Equivalent Graduate of approved EEG program
Work Experience:
Previous EEG [Required]

Basic Life Support•CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) [Preferred]
