EKG Technician

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients to assess their cardiovascular health
• Set up and operate EKG equipment, ensuring proper placement of electrodes
• Monitor patients' vital signs during the test and document any abnormalities or changes
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting of test results
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and test results
• Provide support and reassurance to patients throughout the testing process
• Follow established protocols and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills:

• Proficient in conducting EKG tests and interpreting results
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to cardiac procedures
• Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques such as cardiac catheterization and sonography
• Ability to use aseptic technique when handling equipment and performing tests
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited EKG technician program preferred
• Certification as an EKG Technician is highly desirable
