Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated EKG Technician to join our healthcare team. As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations of patients' cardiovascular health by conducting electrocardiogram (EKG) tests. Your expertise in vital signs, physiology, and medical terminology will be crucial in accurately interpreting and reporting the results. - Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients to assess their cardiovascular health
- Set up and operate EKG equipment, ensuring proper placement of electrodes
- Monitor patients' vital signs during the test and document any abnormalities or changes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting of test results
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and test results
- Provide support and reassurance to patients throughout the testing process
- Follow established protocols and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills:
- Proficient in conducting EKG tests and interpreting results
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to cardiac procedures
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques such as cardiac catheterization and sonography
- Ability to use aseptic technique when handling equipment and performing tests
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited EKG technician program preferred
- Certification as an EKG Technician is highly desirable
